Proposed Lobbying Suspension

In Massachusetts, Sec. of State Galvin has proposed suspending certain lobbyists. Secretary of State William Galvin, frustrated by the refusal of Cognos ULC and its lobbyist, Richard McDonough, to detail his lobbying efforts while the software company was seeking state contracts, yesterday moved to suspend him from lobbying in the state for six years.

NY: Fines Owed

The Times reports that State Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. owes campaign finance fines to New York.  “No excuses,” [Espada] said. “That’s part of the business we’re in, as they say in the ‘Godfather’ movies.”
