The Times examines the latest on Rep. Pete Visclosky and his connections with PMA Group.
As subcommittee chairman, Mr. Visclosky had close ties to the PMA Group — where his former chief of staff, Richard Kaelin, was a lobbyist — before its collapse. He was a leading recipient of campaign contributions by the lobbying firm and earmarked millions of dollars to its clients.
In addition, Mr. Visclosky’s chief of staff, Chuck Brimmer, has suddenly retired, a spokesman for Mr. Visclosky, Jacob Ritvo, said on Tuesday. Mr. Ritvo declined to say whether Mr. Brimmer’s departure was connected to the inquiry.
