What happened at the Federal Election Commission today?  A lot.  The Commission considered three advisory opinion requests, adopted a website improvement document, and instituted new procedures for advisory opinions and audit hearings.   CQMoneyline covers some of the issues here and the Center for Competitive Politics addresses the new procedures here. 

Commissioner Ellen Weintraub was recognized by the Chairman at the end of meeting to give her thanks to many.  President Obama announced his intent to nominate John Sullivan to the Commission on May 1, 2009, and his nomination is awaiting consideration from the Senate.
