It is not at all clear, despite the Court’s reaching out to address ultimate questions about the nature of corporate involvement in politics and the constitutional implications of that, that the case actually will be decided upon such a broad plateau. If the Court has trouble assembIing a majority for a monumental shift in campaign finance law, it might well fall back on a narrowly focused opinion that insulates the Hillary movie, and groups like Citizens United.
