This editorial urges Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon to resign after her conviction on one count.

Much has been made of the penny ante nature of the crime, of the overzealousness of the state prosecutor or of the good things she has done as mayor. None of that matters. Ms. Dixon violated the public trust. She stole from children. And, as one juror so aptly put it, “You can’t just do what you want to do . . . no matter how famous you are.” What she must do now is step down.
