The Council on Governmental Ethics Law’s 2009 Conference kicks-off today in Scottsdale, Arizona. COGEL
is a professional organization for government agencies, organizations, and individuals with responsibilities or interests in governmental ethics, elections, campaign finance, lobbying laws and freedom of information.
Government agencies entitled to Full membership in COGEL conduct the affairs of COGEL through the exercise of their voting rights and by electing a Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is responsible for the organization’s day-to-day operations. The committee also plans COGEL’s annual conference, oversees the work of its subcommittees, oversees the publication of all COGEL materials, and ensures the preservation of COGEL’s charter, bylaws, regulations, minutes, and financial records.
COGEL is an active organization which works to ensure that ethics professionals are connected to each other and aware of new developments in the field. By offering opportunities to connect in person and online, COGEL enables networks to grow and strengthen. We also aim to share knowledge and foster debate.
