McCain, Feingold, and Lieberman on Federal Election Commission travel rules

Senators McCain, Feingold, and Lieberman introduced legislation regarding the Federal Election Commission’s new travel regulations, according to this press release.

In the House, Rep. Halvorson introduced H.J. Res. 65, “Disapproving the rule submitted by the Federal Election Commission with respect to travel on private aircraft by candidates for the office of President, Vice President, and Senator.”

JOINT RESOLUTION

Disapproving the rule submitted by the Federal Election Commission with respect to travel on private aircraft for Federal candidates.

    Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That Congress disapproves the rule submitted by the Federal Election Commission relating to campaign travel (published at 74 Federal Register 63951 (December 7, 2009)), and such rule shall have no force or effect.
