Florida addresses how to value flights on private aircraft

Candidate and officeholder travel has been in the news a lot recently.  The Federal Election Commission recently issued new travel rules; Gov. Sanford has had his own issues with travel on state aircraft; a former North Carolina governor is facing questions about his use of private aircraft.  On Monday, the Florida Division of Elections issued this advisory opinion on how to value travel on private aircraft under state law.  There’s been no shortage of Florida news stories this year on political use of private and government planes.  For example, here’s a story on Gov.
