Leftover campaign cash for Dodd and Dorgan

USAT reports on one of the issues facing retiring lawmakers:  leftover campaign cash.  Might the two envision keeping the cash in a political account?  I don’t know if either of the two have mentioned joining the ranks of strategic advisors.

Former members of Congress also can hold on to their leftover campaign money indefinitely. As we recently reported, that option gives ex-lawmakers who start second careers as lobbyists a ready source of cash to donate to their former colleagues.

Fair Elections Now Act proponents took Dodd’s announcement as an opportunity to issue a press release about new legislation.
