Two big transparency stories today from the Hill #tcamp2010

Sunliight Foundation Blog has some big transparency news from Capitol Hill.  First is the formation of the Congressional Transparency Caucus, which “will allow representatives to deepen their expertise on transparency matters and engage the American public through education, legislation, and oversight.”  Members of Congress introduced the caucus with a “Dear Colleague” letter that Sunlight has.  (I haven’t found a website archiving “Dear Colleague” letters in general; maybe the caucus has an early project?)

Second, Rep. Quigley introduced the Transparency in Government Act today, “sweeping legislation that addresses issues ranging from making Members’ reports of their personal financial information more detailed, to making lobbyists’ reports more timely, to making the work of federal contractors more transparent.”
