Schumer-Van Hollen gets Republican support

Politico reports that the Schumer-Van Hollen legislative response to Citizens United is supported by at least one House Republican.

The bill, which [Rep. Mike] Castle will co-sponsor, would restrict the types of companies that could air campaign ads and require those that did to disclose precisely how much they spent on such ads – and possibly force their CEO’s to appear in them.

Democrats are still searching for a Republican co-sponsor in the Senate, while, in the House, they’re thought to be pursuing additional Republican co-sponsors.

The Van Hollen-Castle statement is here.
