The politics of the Facebook privacy controversy

Colin Delany has the latest on the Facebook privacy controversy here.  MoveOn.org is apparently taking on the company over its recent changes.  At some point, does the controversy seep into political campaigns using Facebook to inform, organize, and energize supporters?  Senator Schumer’s campaign website, for example, includes the ubiquitous Facebook badge and his Facebook page is here.   In April, Senator Schumer was one of four Senators to sign a letter to Facebook pointing out three areas of concern, publicly available data, third party data storage, and instant personalization.  Meanwhile, the company is holding Hill staff-only briefings and recent launched Congress on Facebook.
