Maryland’s rules for campaigns using social media moved forward yesterday and the Baltimore Sun reports here.   I previously posted the draft rules.  The draft rules later appeared here in the Maryland Register here (starting at page 51 of 73).  The rules were apparently amended before passed, evidently the one year retention requirement was removed; I haven’t confirmed this, however.  There are also reports that the rule is an emergency rule and will take effect soon.  The Maryland Register provides for a comment period ending August 16, but this may have been overcome by later events.
