Tracking voters with Foursquare

Politico’s MorningTech has the scoop.

Foursquare and JESS3 have teamed up to design a real-time visualization website, called “I Voted,” that will track check-ins at polling places across the U.S. on Election Day. The site’s main page details how many people have checked in at polling sites and when, broken down geographically (city, neighborhood, etc.) and by gender. “We see this as an opportunity to look at the data that’s out there and to use the reach that Foursquare has,” Ben Slavin, JESS3’s head of tech, told MT. “It gives insight into how our democracy works.”
