(Another) Ethics Complaint Against RI AG Lynch

Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch in the subject of an ethics complaint alleging that he accepted a gift over the$75 limit, according to this report.

The complaint that [RI GOP Chairman] Cicione filed with the state Ethics Commission zeroes in on a different issue: a state regulation prohibiting public officials from accepting any gift valued at more than “$25 per instance and up to $75 per year from each interested person. An interested person is a person, business or representative that has a direct financial interest in a decision that you participate in making.”

A Lynch spokeswoman said the plane ticket was “not a gift from an interested party” because “national trade groups are not interested parties.”
