		<description>I understand that the underlying facts of Kevin Ring&#039;s conviction are that he took Capitol Hill staffers to expensive restaurants and sporting events and picked up the check.  Every lobbyist does that.

I am amazed that Mr. Ring managed to get a mistrial the first time around.  The jury pool in the District of Columbia is so monolithically Democrat that a Republican can never get a fair trial.  I strongly suspect Kevin Ring did nothing criminal and is really being convicted of practicing Republican politics while within the District of Columbia.</description>
