  • “Not a Lobbyist”

    An issue was bubbling in Washington (Husky country) regarding the status of a university contractor who was working on legislation.  The Public Disclosure Commission deemed that he wasn’t a lobbyist (not that there would be anything wrong with that).  More here.

  • Follow-up on CO Case

    I previously mentioned a matter involving Colorado inauguration funds.  It looks like the case has come to a conclusion.

    Insufficient evidence exists to pursue criminal charges against Gov. Bill Ritter’s former campaign manager in connection with his expenditures of inaugural funds, a special prosecutor announced this afternoon. 

  • DC Allegations

    The City Paper reports on an alleged campaign finance violation in Washington, DC.  The Democratic primary was yesterday.

    The city’s Office of Campaign Finance has opened an official investigation into whether Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans improperly used government resources in connection with an ad featuring police Chief Cathy Lanier that ran in the Current newspapers last month.
