The new election cycle brings a new contribution limit for federal candidates. The old limit, $2,300 per election, is sure to increase. But by how much? The limit was set at $1,000 per election by the Federal Election Campaign Act and did not increase until the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002. It went from $2,000 to $2,100 to $2,300 to … who knows?
Other limits also go up, including the biennial federal aggregate limit which for last cycle was $108,200.
