  • Homestate Party, Lobbyists Welcome

    Bloomberg reports on some of the parties surrounding the inauguration.

    Seven firms that earned a total of at least $30 million in lobbying fees last year gave as much as $50,000 apiece for tomorrow’s Illinois gala. For that the lobbyists will be able to pose for pictures with lawmakers and other honorees, get priority dinner seating and put their names before the guests. One possible guest of honor: the president-elect.

  • VA: House Bill Limits Fundraiser Attendance

    Virginia State Delegate Chris Saxman’s bill to ban legislators from attending fundraising events during the legislative session passed the Virginia House, according to this report.  It’s not expected to become law.
