ACORN Stimulus

This report claims that ACORN may be in line for a piece of $4.19 billion as a result of the stimulus bill Congress is considering. UPDATE:  See this February 13, 2009, post for more on how much ACORN may get under the emergency stimulus bill.

Prop. 8 Lawsuit

The Mormon Times reports on the lawsuit surrounding California’s Proposition 8 here. Personal Use

In terms of the types of uses that constitute potential personal use of campaign funds, this case doesn’t seem so outrageous.  Dallas City Council member Carolyn Davis used campaign finance money to fix her car’s brakes — a potential violation of state ethics rules prohibiting candidates from using political funds for personal expenses
