Campaign finance, the sacred, and the profane
The Times reports on a church hit with a fine over a campaign finance-related matter in California. The Mormon Church has agreed to pay a fine of slightly more than $5,000 for failing to report some campaign staff contributions it made in support of Proposition 8, the 2008 ballot measure that outlawed same-sex marriage.
