The Detroit News reports. After 18 months, General Motors Co.’s political action committee has resumed making political donations.
Reid spokesman Jim Manley announced via tweet that the Senate will return to consideration of the DISCLOSE Act on Wednesday with a vote on Thursday. The Hill has a story here. Oops… looks like the vote couldn’t be Wednesday because of a New York fundraiser featuring Senate Democrats, according to Politico. Awkward.
The Star Tribune reports. U.S. District Judge Donovan Frank ruled that the plaintiffs — Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL), the Taxpayers League of Minnesota and Coastal Travel Enterprises — are unlikely to prove that the law hampers their right to free speech. Instead, Frank said, the law “serves an important government interest.”
