New rules restricting lobbyists’ contact with executive branch officials regarding stimulus spending are apparently avoided by having non-lobbyists make the contacts. Today is President Obama’s 100th day in office. On the White House’s Ethics website, the White House asks readers to, “Please check back soon.” Some groups are praising the Obama administration’s efforts to strengthen ethics and transparency laws.
