Awarding donors with overseas posts
The Politico notes how some big donors and bundlers for President Obama have been given posts overseas. Of the nearly 80 ambassadorship nominations or confirmations since Obama’s Inauguration, 56 percent were given to political appointees and 44 percent have gone to career diplomats, according to records kept by the American Foreign Service Association.

The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) recently issued this memorandum regarding the acceptance of tickets to events at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. OGE has determined that Executive Branch employees may accept such offers from the Kennedy Center, consistent with the gift rules in the Standards of Ethical Conduct.
