A New Era?

Are we entering a new era for campaign finance?  The Christian Science Monitor thinks so. In the future, any candidate who opts for public financing will be signaling that he or she is a second-tier candidate hoping to catch fire with a little help from Uncle Sam.

FEC Discusses VoterVoter and NRLC Opinions

Today the Federal Election Commission approved an Advisory Opinion regarding VoterVoter.com.  The approved document is here. The Commission also discussed an Advisory Opinion request from the National Right to Life Committee.   Two drafts failed to receive four votes.  The Commission asked the Office of the General Counsel to prepare and circulate an additional draft.
