Appeal in Minnesota campaign finance law case
Politics in Minnesota has the latest. The Associated Press reports that the plaintiffs are now seeking another injunction from the appellate court that would invalidate the disclosure requirements. They also intend to pursue a full appeal of Frankās ruling.
Minnesota law stands for now
The Star Tribune reports. U.S. District Judge Donovan Frank ruled that the plaintiffs — Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL), the Taxpayers League of Minnesota and Coastal Travel Enterprises — are unlikely to prove that the law hampers their right to free speech. Instead, Frank said, the law “serves an important government interest.”
