This Times editorial discusses a corporation called Data and Field Services with allegedly close ties to a political party. The workings of the company are hard to figure out because, as a private business, its financial arrangements are not automatically transparent.

The Times reports on connections between a fund apparently controlled by some in the Bloomberg administration and some nonprofit groups.  According to the report, the mayor’s aides routed hundreds of thousands of dollars in city money to at least two politically connected nonprofit groups in violation of government contracting rules, according to records and interviews.
