Kentucky legislators stopped the clock, but

[w]hen the commotion ended and the General Assembly finally adjourned just after 1 a.m. Wednesday, legislators left with a number of measures unresolved – from a proposed overhaul of the state pension system to about $200 million in proposed road construction projects. Kentucky legislators also failed to approve changes to the state’s campaign finance law, or toughen the state’s government ethics law.

Text messaging can be a powerful tool for advocacy. For example text messages can be used as get out the vote reminders on Election Day or for updates on other various campaigns. However, wireless carriers are continuing to block some of these services, claiming they have the right to control what text messages are sent over their network.
