The Senate has clarified certain aspects of its rules as they relate to providing Members and staff with coffee and other items of nominal value.

A number of states have public funding programs for certain candidates.  Could this be considered a trend?  There is more than one proposal for public financing of U.S. Senate elections.

The New York City Campaign Finance Board is quite active.  Recently, the Board announced penalties of over $44,000 for one candidate.  New York City campaign finance law features matching funds, spending limtis, public funds, and “pay to play” rules.
