SCHOCK UPDATE.  Politico.  “A federal prosecutor investigating Illinois Republican Aaron Schock is asking former aides to the ex-congressman whether he inflated his mileage reimbursements to cover the payments on his personal vehicle, according to sources familiar with the investigation.”

MCGAHN ON HRC. WSJ.  “By giving legislators authority to regulate the money that finances this speech, politicians would only succeed in making it harder for Americans to make their voices heard in the political process.”

HUCKABEE JOKE.  WP.  “‘I will be funded and fueled not by the billionaires, but by working people who will find out that $15- and $25-a-month contributions can take us from Hope to higher ground,’ he said, making his announcement in Hope, Ark. And then he added, to laughter, ‘Now, rest assured, if you want to give a million dollars, please do it.’ It was mostly a joke. It also violated campaign finance law.”  A few months ago I noted this request for funds from Senator Franken.

IN:  NEW LAWS.  Nuvo.net.  “Gov. Mike Pence signed House Bill 1002, which was authored by House Speaker Brian Bosma, R-Indianapolis, on Monday. The bill would require legislators to disclose any investments they hold that total $5,000 or more.”

NJ:  CHRISTIE VETO.  PIOnline.  “New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed legislation that would have expanded the scope of restrictions on political contributions made by money managers doing business with the $77.1 billion New Jersey Pension Fund, Trenton.”
