Polline to Refund

According to this Burlington Free Press story, a progressive will refund contributions.

State law allows candidates to accept $1,000 from an individual per election. Because independents don’t take part in a primary, they may accept $1,000 for the full election cycle while major-party candidates may accept $1,000 for the primary and another $1,000 for the general election. When Pollina started his campaign in January he was running as a Progressive, which is considered a major party.

1544 Euros Per Election

ABC News notes some concerns regarding foreign national contributions.

There’s more money reaching presidential campaign coffers from Americans overseas this election cycle than any previous one but some campaign finance experts warn it may be impossible to ensure no foreigners are donating to the election funds. While both campaigns say they rigorously vet donations, experts say that the large number of donations, particularly those through the Internet, opens the doors for fraud.
