According to this report, Freddie Mac has canceled events at the national party conventions.

“As a result of current market conditions and financial considerations, Freddie Mac has withdrawn from participating in both the Republican and Democratic conventions,” said spokesman Doug Duvall.

So instead of wining and dining delegates at a lunch at the Denver Pavilions, Duvall said, the company will concentrate on the basics.

“We are focused on the business of our business — serving American homeowners and renters during one of the most challenging housing economies in history,” Duvall said.
