“Election Fraud” Trial Set

This Winchester Star report details the allegations against Mark Tate.

His trial, scheduled for Sept. 8-12 in Leesburg, should be a bit easier, following a hearing Friday before Circuit Court Judge Thomas D. Horne.

Horne ruled that special prosecutor Matthew J. Britton would have to file a new document outlining the specific charges by Aug. 25 because several items included in the former document involved campaign filings that had exceeded the statute of limitations for campaign finance violations.

The statute of limitations for campaign election fraud is three years.
