Pro-Slots Group: $7 Million

The final numbers are in and there was some considerable spending on the ballot measure in Maryland regarding slot machines.

For Maryland For Our Future, the major pro-slots group, raised more than $7 million and spent almost $6.9 million on the referendum vote, according to the three campaign finance reports filed with the state. A majority of the money came from gambling and horse-racing interests, with the company that runs Laurel Park accounting for more than 40 percent of the total.
