Disagreement continued Monday between the Nassau County Commission and the county clerk over the proposed hiring of a federal lobbyist. In a letter to the board, Clerk of Court John Crawford expressed doubt about whether his office could legally authorize payment to the law firm of Jacobs, Scholz & Associates because the board proposed hiring the firm without putting the job out for a competitive bid.
