A Times editorial endorses more campaign finance reforms today.
In its 2003 [McConnell] ruling, the Supreme Court declared that McCain-Feingold’s limits on soft money were a permissible means “to confine the ill effects of aggregated wealth on” national politics. The courts should reaffirm that well-reasoned decision — and Mr. Obama and Congress should get to work fixing the current badly flawed, out-of-date campaign finance system.
