$225,000 in Fines for Michigan Committees

A Michigan state senate committee and other Michigan committees must pay a total of over $225,000 in fines for failing to follow campaign finance laws, according to this report. 

Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land announced Monday that the Mark Schauer for State Senate committee, the Senate Democratic Fund and the Committee to Elect Bob Schockman — the Bedford Township clerk —  are to pay a total of $225,250 in fines and excess contributions for violating Michigan’s Campaign Finance Act.
