“We need not so much a declaration of independence as a declaration for independence,” he told a university audience. “These institutions of public trust need to be constructed in such a way that we can sustain our faith.”

Lessig is involved in strike4change.org, a website soliciting donations “to help keep the momentum going” to “make sure Congress work for us, not special interests.”; “Donations to Change Congress for the donor strike campaigns go to our 501c4 and are not tax deductible. Deductible contributions to our 501c3 are available.”

“Change Congress PAC” is registered with the Federal Election Commission, according to this publicly available information.
