Torch Linked to Corruption Investigation

Former Sen. Bob Torricelli is linked to a New York pension fund investigation, according to this Times report.

Mr. Torricelli, who was forced to abandon his re-election bid for the Senate in 2002 amid an ethics scandal, is now a lobbyist. He did work from 2005 to 2008 for Searle & Company, a Connecticut investment firm that employed his longtime friend Hank Morris, a spokesman for Mr. Torricelli confirmed on Thursday.

Mr. Morris, who was once the chief political adviser to New York’s former state comptroller Alan G. Hevesi, was indicted last month on fraud charges, as was David Loglisci, the top investment officer of the state pension fund.
