No criminal charges for Gov. Sanford

The Times has the latest on ethics issues surrounding South Carolina Gov. Sanford.

The attorney general’s office investigated reports that Mr. Sanford, a Republican, used state aircraft for personal and political reasons, bought business-class tickets in violation of state travel policy and failed to account for small amounts of campaign money. The issues arose after Mr. Sanford acknowledged that he secretly traveled to Argentina in 2008 to visit a woman with whom he was having an affair.
