Candidate’s “haunting” past as lobbyist an issue

In what may be an issue for other candidates, Politico discusses Dan Coats’s history as a lobbyist in this article this morning.

Since even before Coats entered the race, foes in both parties have painted him as a Beltway hired gun. Now, weeks after securing his party’s nomination, Coats is mired in a dispute with Indiana Democrats over demands that he disclose more detailed information about the clients he represented through the firm King & Spalding.
