GM lobbyist ban amendment fails

The Detroit News has the news about an amendment to the financial regulatory reform legislation in conference dealing with a ban on outside lobbyists for companies like General Motors.

During a House-Senate conference committee debate on a financial overhaul bill, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., introduced an amendment that would have barred any company that is at least 5 percent owned by the U.S. Treasury from hiring outside lobbyists.
