Former Clinton National Finance Chair sentenced to 12 years

Former Hillary Clinton National Finance Chair Hassan Nemazee was sentenced to 12 years in prison as part of a fraud case.  Politics Daily reports here.

He was national co-chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and when she lost, he went on to raise funds for the candidate who beat her, Barack Obama. In 2004 he was New York state financial chairman for John Kerry.

According to an early DOJ press release in the case,

Among other things, NEMAZEE used the proceeds of his fraudulent schemes (1) to make donations to the election campaigns of federal, state, and local candidates; (2) to make donations to political action committees; (3) to make donations to charities; (4) to purchase real property in Italy; and (5) to make monthly maintenance payments on real properties in Manhattan and Katonah, New York.
