Issue committee fined in Colorado

News here.

A judge has levied $11,300 in campaign-finance fines against a group run by anti-tax activist Douglas Bruce for not reporting what was spent to put three tax-slashing measures on the November ballot.

The fine against Active Citizens Together, a nonprofit run by Bruce, is believed to be the largest-ever against an “issue committee,” a group that financially supports ballot measures. The order issued Tuesday by Administrative Law Judge Matthew Norwood is the latest step in a nearly year-long case to unearth who paid to have the three measures, Amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101, put on the ballot.
