REP. RICHARDSON IN THE NEWS. Roll Call. “The request for an investigation into whether Richardson forced staffers to perform personal errands and campaign work on the taxpayer’s dime is the latest in a string of ethical and legal scuffles that have plagued the California lawmaker, who is less than a year away from what will surely be a contentious primary in a newly redrawn district.”

UPDATE ON CT GREEN PARTY CASE. The Post. “The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from the Green Party of Connecticut challenging state requirements for third party candidates to qualify for public campaign funds.”

CALLING COPYRIGHTS AND CAMPAIGNS. “Tom Petty Takes on Bachman Over ‘American Girl””.  Reuters.  “Petty’s camp is unhappy with Bachmann’s choice of exit music and will ask the campaign not to use the song, according to an NBC News report.”

POST ON PUBLIC FINANCING. The Post. “The justices, for today, may have kept the public financing system intact, but they have made it far less viable.”

SENTENCE IN DC CAB CASE. The Post. “Ted G. Loza, who pleaded guilty to accepting illegal gratuities and making a false statement, admitted in February that he received $1,500 from an FBI informant who sought his help to influence legislation related to the taxicab industry.”

LOBBYIST REPRIMAND IN OK. Story here.  “The reprimand indicates that lobbyist Ashley N. Varner violated ethics rules by exceeding the $100 annual limit on things of value a lobbyist can provide to lawmakers. Meals are included in things of value.”
