SOLYNDRA PROBE SIMMERING.  The Post.  “House Republicans on Thursday intensified their investigation into Solyndra, a California solar-panel manufacturer favored by the Obama administration that shut down this week.”

FOUNDATION HIT BY SOLYNDRA.  The Post.  “The independent [George Kaiser Family Foundation] said that its lead funder, billionaire oilman George B. Kaiser, a prominent Obama campaign bundler, was not personally invested in the company or involved in its loan application.”

TREASURER ARRESTED.  Story here.  “A prominent Democratic campaign treasurer who works for federal, state and O.C. lawmakers including U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Rep. Loretta Sanchez and state legislators Lou Correa and Jose Solorio has been arrested by the FBI on suspicion of mail fraud, The Orange County Register has learned.”

REP. BERKLEY IN THE NEWS.  The Times.  “Ms. Berkley’s actions were among a series over the last five years in which she pushed legislation or twisted the arms of federal regulators to pursue an agenda that is aligned with the business interests of her husband, Dr. Larry Lehrner.”

CAMPAIGN FUNDS OK FOR SECURIT MEASURE. Politico.  “Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) may use political campaign funds to secure her home from would-be attackers, the Federal Election Commission unanimously ruled today.”

HILL’S 50 WEALTHIEST.  The Hill.  “Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) has dethroned Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) as the richest member of Congress, according to The Hill’s annual list of the 50 wealthiest lawmakers.”

PRO-BACHMANN SUPER PAC AD.  Story here.  “Keep Conservatives United, a Super PAC supporting GOP presidential contender Michele Bachmann, released an ad this week attacking one of Bachmann’s main competitors for the Republican nomination, Rick Perry.”

STARBUCKS CEO WRITES.  I assume that by virtue of my Starbucks card I received “a special letter” via email from Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz with his plea “to withhold political campaign contributions until a transparent, comprehensive, bipartisan debt-and-deficit package is reached that honestly, and fairly, sets America on a path to long-term financial health and security.”  The letter I got is here and more is online at a website at this link.  The Starbucks Coffee Company Policy on Corporate Political Contributions and Expenditures is online here.

NATURALIZED CITIZEN A CANDIDATE, NATURALLY.  The FEC issued an advisory opinion request from a naturalized citizen running for office and it’s online here.
