Giving in South Dakota

This article discusses T. Denny Sanford’s moves, ahead of some changes in the law, to donate to a state PAC and some state candidates. 

“He wrote that check on June 27, 2007. That was three days before the new campaign finance reform went into       effect,” South Dakota Secretary of State Chris Nelson said Monday. “This was one of the things that we intended to place a limit on — the amount of money an individual could give to a single PAC.”
