Illinois Reform Commission Urges Reforms

The Illinois Reform Commission issues a report calling for a number of campaign finance and ethics reforms, according to this Times report.

Perhaps most challenging, some commission recommendations would require state lawmakers to agree to changes in the way they do their work, including the removing of self-interest from legislative redistricting, adding more checks to the way budgets are approved, and forcing the state legislature and its committees to comply with state rules requiring meetings to be open to the public.
