General Motors and its Political Action Committee

Reports are that the U.S. government will own 72.5% of General Motors.   The company’s political action committee (PAC) has about $400,000 cash on hand and it looks like the PAC hasn’t contributed to any federal candidates this year.

In other automotive-related campaign finance news, there have been charges that political affiliation played a role in which Chrysler dealerships were selected for closing.  The Volokh Conspiracy discusses CCP’s Sean Parnell’s skepticism as to these charges here.
