The “Speed of Crisis” and the DNA of Political Operatives

Ever since I met Dallas Lawrence of Levick Strategic Communication recently at a Social Media Club I’ve been sorry I wasn’t an avid reader of the firm’s Bulletproof Blog sooner.  For example, one recent post by Richard Levick discusses the speed of crisis given today’s technology and things that should be wired into the DNA of every leader.  Although this post (like most) seems aimed at CEOs, I think they’re no less important to people working in the political or government spaces.

First, faster access to information means shorter decision cycles.

Second, companies need to be aware that there exists a dearth of safeguards protecting against the rapid spread of misinformation.

And third, shorter decision cycles and the threat of fast-moving misinformation mean that trust will become a company’s most valuable asset.
